Responding to GATTACA

'I got the better end of the deal. I only lent you my body - you lent me your dream.' -Jerome Eugene Morrow
Jerome benefited from this experience not only because of the support he received from Vincent's high salary at GATTACA, but also, for the first time in his life he was number one. It was the first time he knew the excitement of having a dream and the struggle to realizing it. Jerome finally receives the 'goal medal' of the achievement. Jerome was able to get in GATTACA it was just that he wasn't desired to go. Because the society believed that all of a person’s traits are genetically determined, it does not allow the belief that some traits can be developed through life experience. Before Jerome's accident his frustration was he was always number two, never number one. Vincent let him his dream giving him a sense of 'hope' that not everything was lost.
