Ana's Seed Story

Ana was very interested in this assignment, watching her groups plant grow from a little seedling into the good-size, healthy plant that it is today. She was surprised at how fast the plant grew in different environments for example, she learned that plants grow bigger and faster in blue saran wrap. She was surprised that that even worked! At first she thought that a plant just being outside with chemicals would help it grow faster and not it being inside and inclosed in a small place box wrapped in different colored wraps. She had to pause and do a double-take on how plants even grew better in different saran wraps. To her that was highly impossible because she thought a plant being more or less enclosed would kill it instead of increase its speed. She also thought that even if this was possible that the white saran wrap would make the plant grow even faster that the blue saran wrap.The one thing she was grossed out by was all the insects outside eating the plants, burrowing in the ground, and doing their jobs. She also thought what was interesting and funny and gross, of course, was how white butterflies made the plants die by caterpillars and how much that they ate off of our growing plants. Ana just loves school so this project was extremely important to her part in loving school and being able to do something that was new! New by us being able to go outside and manage our own plants to grow.
