The plant used photosynthesis and respiration to make the required amount of energy to allow the matured cells to reproduce, in cell division (mitosis), making daughter cells which will eventually mature and do cell division once more using photosynthesis and respiration therefore making the plant grow.
mRNA will take the encoded information off of the DNA after the helicase has unzipped it and will give the information to its RNA cousins (rRNA and tRNA) to make the certain types of protein that is grabbed off of the DNA in which case it is the enzyme (PEPC and Rubisco) that is needed to do more photosynthesis so the plant may continue growing, thriving, and doing its assigned function.
