Food, Inc.
It seems to be that now in most farms goods are not being grown naturally. The farms are now factories. The food is being process in concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFO) which are factory farms in which animals kept and raised in enclose situations. Most of the citizens that buy these products don’t know the real way their food is made. Most labels just say “Natural” or “No added sugar/corn/etc” but is it really? Consumers just check the front of the product too busy to take their time comparing the nutrition facts table. Not all labels contain all of the information of the product convincing the customer is making the right choice. Citizens should have access to healthy foods considering it ought to be guaranteed by a nation to it’s people as well as people must earn access to foods they want.
Basically nutrition is so essential to life and liberty that it ought to be guaranteed by a nation to its people. When going to the supermarkets citizens try to look for the healthier product yet all they see are the same labels. Each product saying the same thing over and over again yet mostly everything is based from corn, salt, or sugar. People must earn access to foods they want. Food that is grown naturally turns to be healthy and your body actually does appreciate it. People who want to get in shape look for the best goods at the grocery store that will help them stay active throughout the day and follow their strict diet. Yet how is it possible if the labels are not fully correct.
As well people must earn access to foods they want. They have the right to know what they are eating and how it became their food. When reading the labels not everything is straight forward. Or not everyone knows how to read it. They can easily get confused with the way it is listed. Not being able to read the nutrition facts right is a cause of bad health. Making bad choices when buying the product can lead to severe health problems for when being processed in the digestive system.
On the other hand others might say who decides what is healthy? “Healthy is a positive descriptive of a person’s physical state,” states the dictionary. When someone is healthy they need a very strict nutritious diet that they have to follow. Healthy eating is not a Big Mac with lettuce, pickles, onions, tomatoes, that just happen to be grown with unnatural origins, 2 beef patties, that were feed corn,  special sauce, that contains salt, all this in the middle of sesame seed buns and being all greasy containing 550 calories. Yummy! Consumers might want to rethink of what they want to eat next time. Healthy eating would be a salad with romaine, spinach, carrots, broccoli, tomatoes, apples, tuna canned in water, almonds, croutons with ranch dressing containing just 497 calories. Isn't that amazing? But the thing is meat producers don’t care of their healthiness of their products they just care about selling it and making profit. So where does that leave the consumers at? With obesity, heart conditions, diabetes, food poison etc.
As a result of this customers don’t know what they are really consuming and how it was process. Making them have bad eating habits. Customers should have the access to healthy foods and people must earn access to foods they want. This can help consumers make right choices and know what their body needs instead of what it wants.
