Our plant
Me and my group have been experimenting with the kael species. Our plant has grown to be quite tall, a greyish green with wavy leaves, it has not been harassed by insects very much so its leaves do not have very many holes. All of the traits of our plant have been passed down from its ancestors. I could predict my plant's offspring by creating a punnet square to see the chance of its offspring's characteristics appearing. They would acquire half of the genetics from our plant which are produced during mitosis when the chromosomes divide and give each gamete half of the chromosomes. My plant will pass its genetics on for generations to come by producing pollen and having pollinators come and spread it. My plant's offspring will not look exactly the same because half of their genes will come from another plant. The plants of these species all look quite different because they have had so long to change their genes.

Plants can look so much different from the original species because throughout the centuries the DNA in the plant has had many different mutations which have caused the different offspring of this species to become so much different.
