One of A kind: The wonders of Biodiversity

     

             We are experimenting with the plant, kale. Our plant of Kale is a very dark green and it looks like insects have eaten the edge of the plant. But overall it looks very healthy. Im guessing the parent plant that our plant came from was a healthy strong Kale. My guess is that it had extra dark green leaves also. They probably got this information when the parent plant passed genetic info my using meiosis into the offspring seed. As the plant grew it began to experience some of traits that had been passed to it through genetics. The plant would experience different traits depending if the genes passed down were dominate or recessive. When our plant releases offspring the new plant will be similar but not exactly the same because some genes could become dominate or recessive because shown by the punnet square it can change. If we bred Bracea Oleracea it would look different because shown by the punnet square like I said above some of the plant may have certain recessive genes and some may have certain dominant genes changing their look.
