One of a Kind: The Wonders of Biodiversity

The plant Kale is the plant lab group number eight experimented. They are known within the group of brassica oleracea. They are dark green and tall it is an eatable plant that have crinkle leaves, that must taste amazing since Insects have been eating our plant but they have still been looking pretty sharp. The parent plants from Kale must have been had different height, thickness, and color from the rest of the plants. My team and I discussed that it is most likely for the dominant gene could have been from both of the parent plants. A punnett square is a way to show the possible combinations that offspring of plants could have. They are able to acquire the traits from meiosis, the process by which the plant takes one diploid eukaryotic cell and does independent assortment or cross-over. Genetic information from my plant is passed to next generations by transporting genes to other plants making the plants have some traits. There is a chance the upcoming generations might look different in the future because of the mutations and environment they are in.
